The role
This is a learning placement for students and recent graduates. As an AI Engineering Intern at MMC, you help build LLM-based tools, integrations and tests for client and internal projects. A Senior AI Software Engineer reviews your code and shows you how prompts, APIs, evaluation and safe handling of data fit together. The internship runs for 3 to 6 months, full-time. The stipend is subject to interview. If you already have experience, see the AI Software Engineer role. The internship is open on-site in Indore or remote within India. Remote interns may occasionally be asked to visit our Indore office.
Why you'll love this role
- You build with LLMs on real projects.
- A senior engineer reviews your code.
- You learn evaluation and safety, not only prompts.
What you will own
- Write and test code that calls LLM APIs, with a senior reviewing every change
- Build small tools and scripts that connect data sources and services
- Write test cases and help evaluate model outputs for accuracy and safety
- Document what you built and how to run it
- Use Git for every change, with clear commit notes
- Join code reviews and learn from the comments
You probably are
- A final or pre-final year student, or a fresh graduate, in computer science or any degree if you can show code
- Working Python or JavaScript
- A GitHub profile or project links
- Curious about how LLMs work and where they fail
- Careful with data: you never paste private data into tools without permission
A bonus if you have
- A project using an LLM API
- Basic SQL
- Experience with web APIs
What you'll grow into
AI Software Engineer, if a full-time role is open and your work is strong.
Where you would work

On-site at our office in Vijayanagar, Indore, or remote from anywhere in India. Both options are open for this role. Remote hires may occasionally be asked to visit the Indore office.
How hiring works
- 01Apply. Send your CV, your portfolio or showreel link if the role asks for one, where you want to work (on-site in Indore or remote within India), your current city, your years of relevant experience and your answers to four short questions. A recruiter reviews every application against the role's requirements.
- 02A structured interview. 30 to 45 minutes with the hiring manager. Every candidate for a role gets the same core questions, built from what the role needs.
- 03A practical task. Early-career roles: a live task of 60 to 90 minutes, at the office or on a video call. Mid and senior roles: a task of a few hours on a realistic brief, with no live client data.
- 04A final conversation. With the department head and a founder. We agree on-site or remote work, your joining date and terms here, and take references before any offer.
